For development of
my poster I will select two of my initial poster designs and work into them by
adding them colour and detail. I will use multiple experiments e.g. different
colour backgrounds, different types of font and experimenting with the font
size and the arrangement of my visuals. I’ve already learnt that too many visuals can
be overwhelming for the eye but too few will be unappealing and won’t allow my
poster to stand out. Taking this in mind, it would be useful for me to
experiment with the arrangement of my visuals as this allows me to try
different forms of presentation by putting the visuals in different sections of
my poster or even combining them without disrupting the balance of the visuals
into under/overwhelming. I intend to do this by hand to begin with by making
duplicates/ copies of my initial pictures and then adding colour to them using
coloured pencils, However once i am happy with a layout i will put scan them in and edit them over them using photoshop or illustrator. I am also going to take pictures and digitally modify them by creating silhouettes. I will also annotate them to remind myself what is and isn’t
eye appealing and what I should or shouldn’t try again. I hope to have this
done by the time we return from the holidays and have a small collection of
annotated and coloured work I can refer to in the future.
